Noble Designs is Ryun Noble. He and his associates have led the cutting edge of technology across many high-profile fields — taking projects from the first spark of an idea all the way to finished, functional machines.

The studio was founded in 1994 around an idea Ryun conceived at age 13: a better bicycle hub. He and his friends went on to create the world’s lightest bicycle hub — a design that has remained the lightest for more than two decades.

That project set the pattern for everything since. Whether the medium is carbon at the molecular level, a copper-bodied concept car, a 12-inch-travel mountain bike, or a film shot on Super 8, the approach is the same: understand the problem completely, design with manufacturing in mind, and build the tools if they don’t exist yet.

Today Noble Designs works across nanotechnology, bicycle engineering, automotive and motorsports fabrication, manufacturing consulting, lighting development, and professional film and photography.
